About Us
It’s A Dog’s World is located in Sumner, WA, and is owned by Sumner Veterinary Hospital. Our facility is the most premiere dog training facility in the Northwest, with our 100 x 125 foot indoor agility arena, and a 100 x 75 foot matted obedience area. The Agility arena is a soft and springy artificial turf called Sprint Turf, and is ideal for both dog and handler. Our Obedience mats are thick and springy as well. In addition, the entire building is insulated and climate controlled.
The History of It’s A Dog’s World
M. Kathy Wendt, D.V.M., has been an integral part of Sumner Veterinary Hospital since she began the company, twenty-five years ago. When she became interested in dog sports, and specifically dog Agility, she knew that in addition to providing the best medical care in the area, she wanted to be able to provide the best training and training environment in the area. When Sumner Veterinary Hospital made plans to build a new and improved facility, It’s A Dog’s World was born.
You may have noticed a very attractive little Parsons Russell Terrier on our logo – that Terrier is Gidget, the mascot of It’s A Dog’s World. It was Kathy’s involvement in the sport of dog Agility with Gidget, her first agility dog, that led to the creation of It’s A Dog’s World.
